Vistazo Trifocal Cataract Lenses

Project Brief

Vistazo was probably one of the most technically challenging projects that we took.  Explaining a cataract lens and its features was something unique to the whole team. Types of lenses and their differences really took us by surprise. Using 3D was a decision for a feeling of tactility and believability.

Animation Process

Mixing 2D and 3D type of animation was tricky, We had to predict and storyboard everything before getting anything on the timeline. Getting the texture and the look right for the lenses was probably the trickiest part. Due to the alpha channel in the Lens we had to show transparency somehow on an almost flat coloured BG and hence we decided to animate a bit of wavy lines in the Back.
